Our story

It started in 21 September 2016 - with a small poster at the Katlakalns Community Center, which read: “If you are willing and able to sing and can believe in the dream that from a singing interest group a women's choir can grow, come to the first meeting!”

“Why not?”, that's what 24 ladies thought, came, got to know each other, smiled and started singing at the Katlakalns Community Center on Wednesday evenings.

Over time, the interest group really turned into a choir, which soon got its name - MAGONE (in English - Poppy).

Since the first rehearsal, the number of singers has grown significantly - now we are more than 50 - united not only by the song, but also by the desire to spend rehearsal hours filled with the sparkle and joy, celebrate holidays together and get involved in many other activities, inviting families, relatives and friends along.

In Magone, you simply want to be and want to grow! This is confirmed by both the evaluation received at the Latvian Song Festival and the diplomas we have taken home from international choir competitions. Magone - it is an endless flowering!

And each following day is a wonderful continuation of our story! 💚
